A Church Following Jesus, The Lord of Glory
Parents of Teens
Please encourage your student(s) to get plugged in to our weekly opportunities so we can assist you in holding them accountable to living a Spirit filled, God honoring life. We want to assist you in raising successful and productive students who know and enjoy every good thing we have in Christ Jesus.
BELOW ARE A FEW RESOURCES YOU MIGHT ENJOY AND FIND HELPFUL
When trying to decide if your teen(s) should or shouldn't go to a movie, does PG, PG13 and R mean much to you. Many times the ratings help, but not always. How do you as a parent know the content of a movie? What about the music your teen(s) are listening to. Many times as parents we can't even understand the words to most of today's songs. So in this media-driven culture, what can we do. Plugged-In looks at songs and movies and reveals the contents of each. This is a priceless tool for parents who are trying to make a difference in the life of their family.
Center for Parent/Youth Understanding is a nonprofit organization committed to building strong families by serving to bridge the cultural-generational gap between parents and teenagers. At a time when an already confusing youth culture is changing so quickly, CPYU assists parents, youth workers, educators, and others to better understand teenagers and their culture so that we'll be better equipped to help children and teens navigate the challenging world of adolescence.
